I bought these last year. I was after the Huntress style initially, to suit my larger than average calfs, but they werent really as high in the leg as I wanted.
I found sourcing them very hard anyway, and then realised it was because they are being phased out, in favour of this ‘original adjustable calf boot’.
I do have other wellies, which I wear for gardening etc, but wanted to treat myself to a nice Black pair of Hunter boots.
I am very happy with the height on these, and of course they fit my calfs, even with skinny jeans tucked into them.
I find them very comfortable to walk in, and they are very good for snow and slush. They are water tight, and the legs are nice and thick compared to other wellies.
I would have given them 5 stars if they were a little cheaper, but since I got mine online, with a discount, I can’t compain. I think you get what you pay for.

Best Wellies Ever!!!, 30 Jan 2011

I ordered wellies on a cold Thursday evening heavy snow was forecast for the coming days but did’nt expect to actually receive them in time, much to my surprise I received them Saturday morning whilst it was snowing! Perfect!! could’nt wait to try them out and boy I wasn’t disppointed! These wellies are the best i’ve ever had! No denying that they are a little expensive but at end of day you get what you pay for! I have always struggled to get wellies to fit properly as I have wide calfs (17″ for any one interested!) and I am able to wear 2 pairs of socks plus still be able to tuck my jeans inside aswell with still plenty of room for adjustments at the side. They are easy to get on and off (another bug bare for me) really comfortable and easy to walk in and my feet don’t seem to get as cold either! would definately recommend would be surprised if you were disapointed!

Dry feet in adjustable chocolate wellies, 15 Jan 2011

I wanted to replace my worn out, overly bright, budget wellies with something more sophisticated. These Hunters are very good quality, although I’m not sure how long the glue on the side ‘expander’ section will last… They reach almost to my knee (I’m 5ft9) and the choc colour is very dark brown, which is what I wanted. I bought my usual shoe size which fits foot/ankle with plenty of room for movement and thick socks. However, I will just say that although they fit my wider than average calves well (with space for jeans), if I’d expected the sleek, non-adjustable Hunter look (only available to the skinny-calved!) then I would have been disappointed as you do get a bunching up on the outside of each leg where the expanding section material does its job and sticks out. These will get a lot of wear as I’ve found wellies are the best footwear in city snow/ice (and now constant rain) and these ones are presentable enough to go anywhere.
